A priority for the new £2 million Business Improvement District (BID), the cleaners have an estimated 200,000 bits of gum to remove from the roads. Keith Wilson, of the Winchester City Centre Partnership, told the Daily Echo that the cleaning operation would help rid the city of an eyesore. He said: "This was a popular part of the business plan, coupled with the cleaning of all the pavements as well. "Once we're done then we can restore the pavements to their natural lustre." But a revolutionary new chewing gum could be set to grace our streets during the next month, reports the Telegraph. Cadbury recently announced plans to sell a new chewing gum with a liquid-chocolate centre. ![]() |
